Apparently armor penetration is going to be changed to a rating which will give people % armor penetration. I’ve just read last post on World of Ming, and boy does he have any idea how the armor works?
This is a great, great balance change. Corrently armor penetration is incredible vs clothes, worthless vs heavy armor. With the same amount of armor penetration stats, warriors get a much bigger damage boost on a rogue, than the rogue hitting him back. By changing armor penetration into percentage will allow both classes to benefit from the stat equally.
ORLY? Took me one minute to calculate. Let’s take 50% reduction on 3000 armor:
Armor reduction without reduction: 22.13%
Armor reduction with reduction: 12.44%
DPS increased by 12.44%
And same 50% reduction on 10000 armor:
Armor reduction without reduction: 48.64%
Armor reduction with reduction: 32.14%
DPS increased by 32.14%
So, with this new “balanced” %-based formula, armor penetration will change it’s purpose from raping clothies to raping plates, equally benefiting my ass.

The guild beta begun in Warhammer Online and peeps from my guild (who are, pretty much as me, tired with WoW) got in. I’ve decided to get back on my personal beta account and start playing the game with them again. That’s pretty much the main reason for the stagnation on this blog over past weeks (that and Mass Effect and Arms talents in WotLK sucking major ass, being so uninspiring that it’s not even fun to write about them).
After playing WoW for so long I guess I’m not alone when I say I’m tempted to play a new game, not because WoW is bad, but because I’m just fed with it. AoC failed to deliver, AFAIK they haven’t implemented the PvP system into the game yet, and it’s been what? Two months since release? It’s kind of bad for a game that advertised itself as a hardcore PvP game to not have a PvP system in it.
There is no class named ‘Warrior’ in WAR, so the name of this blog (as well as the logo) isn’t going to fit there well. I’m going to leave WarriorPWNS dusting as an archive, and move onto www.terhix.com (WIP) for Warhammer. The theme of the new blog is being worked on :P, should be up during the weekend. Mythic announced they are going to lift the NDA next week, so once the new blog starts working you can just add the new RSS to your readers and await a HUGE post about Warhammer by then, including screenshots, maybe some PvP action taken with fraps.
Ok ok, but as a warrior player, what class am I going to cover? Well, according to the NDA I can’t even tell you what class I’m playing in beta, but in a twisted way I’ll say that before I got into beta I was 60% sure that I’ll be playing a Black Orc after release, and now I’m 100% sure about that choice ;).
WAAAAAAAAGH!

Update: changed the background to a bit darker one and easier for the eye, added some polish as well. If you see something odd, Ctrl+F5 should fix everything.
I wanted to do that before, but never had time. After weeks of slacking, here it is - a bit refreshed layout, woohoo. When I get some more time I’ll try to reorganize categories, maybe make a separate subpage for Guides and integrate Tools into the design.
But what’s really sitting in my head are forums for this site. The point is, I don’t know if it’s really needed - there are official forums, arenajunkies class forums, wowhead forums and what not - making forums just for the sake of having it (and having it dead) isn’t really something I’d like to do. So, let me know in comments if you guys think it’s a good or bad idea to have forums at WarriorPWNS.com, and how do you feel about the new colors and stuff.

So, AoC has been up for a while now and I’m getting more into it. The game has some serious problems with bugs and technical issues, but seeing as Funcom is releasing a patch every working day I’m calm about it, in 3 months it should deliver much more than now and after they add DX10 in late august the game will come in full glory.
The biggest issue we have with the game right now is the fact that after level 55 or so it begins to turn into a grind fest, as there is not enough quests - they raised experience required per level in beta and didn’t have enough time to put the content in, one of many things that fails because of the rush for release date.
I definitely love my Barbarian, it feels good to play a caster killer after years of being a warrior in WoW. The arsenal of abilities they gave to barb is all you will ever need: stuns - checked, knockbacks - checked, CC removal - checked, mini-ranged IWIN button (No escape, the deathcoil of AoC) - checked, AoE manaburn proc with hp regen if a caster somehow survives the stuns - checked, looking awesome with fur cape - checked. The “balance” (in quotes as there is no balance atm, and there is not much of a need for it to be) in AoC is rock-paper-scissors put to extreme, just as much as I can eat casters for a breakfast, there is pretty much nothing I can do against tanks, unless they are retarded and use frenzy stance (pretty much doubles damage taken, makes berserker stance in wow look like a tank mode), in which case it’s still 50:50. Not much of an issue, as I can just run away from their loldps and restealth :P. Assassins might have it easier against tanks at higher levels, since they get toys like soulstrike (next combo deals unholy damage instead of physical), but still solider classes have an upper hand against rogue classes in toe to toe combat, which is expected.
FFA PvP ruleset is awesome, I don’t know how it looks on other servers, but on Fury the “factions” are already starting to shape, most people are not attacking everything they see, but are instead making their kill on sight lists, which eventually evolves into guild vs guild KOS - and the drama goes on!
And so I haven’t logged to WoW for a while, just missed another arena week. I’m thinking about canceling my WoW account, at least until WotLK comes. There is not much WoW has to offer for PvPers at level 70, granted we don’t know what exactly AoC has to offer at 80, but we are occupied as we are still leveling.
