Congratulation!
I’m still missing 140 Rating and about 2400 Arena Points
(No EZ Mode either :P)

You decided not to go axe?
Anyways, a bit off topic but I think sword > axe whether you’re orc or not
The expertise thing isn’t much of a benefit since most the time your target can’t parry and they are too busy facing their back against you to dodge.
January 16th, 2008 at 11:03 am
I was using S1 axe for most of this season, changed to S1 mace and the difference is stunning. I could be still wondering wheather to go for axe or sword for an Orc, but there is really no point in that since mace is better then both of them :p. This can ofc depend on your team, bracket etc etc etc, but for me playing 2v2 with pally, mace spec is a must imo, combined with JoJ it’s a druid-killer.
January 16th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
If your calculator is correct it takes 2% avoidance (no parry, no flurry) on 400 resi target for Orc to show that axe is better than sword. With 300 resi 1% is enough and then axe just became better and better.
About mace… I don’t think it is needed for casual play (like me) and it looks like some crap staff. I still don’t know to go for it or axe tho, have ~3 weeks to think about it.
January 16th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
If you can get S1 mace and S1 axe/sword while getting to S3 weapon, do so and compare by yourself.
Yeah, the mace looks like crap, but that’s a little price to pay for the havoc mace stun brings.
January 16th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Cannot really be bothered to grind honor after I grinded everything from there (including 1h + shield) not long ago. Not to mention I am mainly prot for the time being
But after some thinking it seems I will go for mace after all. I had some fun with mace on 2.2 PTR some time ago but that was before mace nerf isn’t? Anyhow mace was always fun from what I remember and it is good for arena and casual PvE. I just cry that I would loose my racial
January 16th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
You won’t even feel the loss of 5 expertise I can tell you that, you will however feel the profit of having mace spec (especially if you have SCT installed which shows big *MACE STUN* along with *ROOTED* everytime you get mace/hamstring proc).

can we plz get a non scrub warrior posting in this blog. seriously this many weeks into the season and you still dont have your weapon, suck more plz.
Hello mr ignorant retard who likes to flame people over the internet. If you bothered to spent more than 3 minutes on this blog and look at some older post (or at least notice the hole between may and september) you will understand I didn’t play WoW for 6 months+ and came back before season 3. Next week I’ll have 3/5 S3 and S3 weapon, where 2 months ago I had 80% blue gear, yeah, I suck. - T

How about a post about AP vs Crit?
AP is affected by AP normalization
Crit is affected by resilience
The way is see it so far if you’re 35/23/3 go AP
33/28 go crit?
I see a lot of ppl said they’ll go AP when they go axe, but that doesn’t mean anything if they don’t know the value of crit vs ap.
January 17th, 2008 at 8:31 am
I had gorehowl with savagery till yesterday. Today s1 mace with executioner. Overall I lost 100AP, 1point in dps (rougly),4-5points in stamina and huge amount of crit.. from 34-35% to 29-30%. Instead I got more hit, more resiliance and mace stun. I haven’t had time to test it yet. I will let you know. I only hope that the executioner and the mace stun compensates the loss…
January 17th, 2008 at 11:07 am
There was (is?) a battle on eu forums between battlemaster’s cruelty and battlemaster’s determination users and a lot of people are confused about the whole crit vs ap thing, I’m preparing to write a post about this atm.
Urim: I haven’t tested executioner yet ><, still running with savagery, I’m 100% sure I’ll get executioner for my S3 mace tho, the rule about those two are: /the better gear you have, the better executioner becomes and the less meaningful savagery becomes/.
January 17th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Was thinking the same the other night,is ap overrated?is it worth to put 4/5 in improved battlecry?
need some graphics or info terhix!
GG for the mace
im at 1800 rating with disc priest and why struggle to get past that
January 17th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
AP is not overrated, I’ve 1/5 in commanding presence (I guess it’s what you call ‘improved battlecry’, non-english wow?), but that’s because I’m addicted to Blood Craze.
January 17th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
@ ‘lolyousuck’ : How about you tell us your name? Even if you’re wearing your S3 shoulders by now, at least we know you’re a jackass as well as an egotistical child.
Fact is you read this Blog enough to care about posting here, and perhaps you just find it insulting to your sense of superiority that you now find out the guy who posts such good stuff infact hasn’t got his S3 weapon yet?
Maybe you should be taking a leading role in this community since you’re so fucking awesome?
I only just found this Blog and I must say I’m glad to have another website to add to my ‘check daily’ list.. It’s nice to see the (well published) thoughts of others that bolster my own opinions (or go against them, either way it’s nice to see other opinions :D) and make me realise that no, I’m not the only one who noticed something
I myself will get the S3 mace this week, if I can reach 1850 rating. I finally found a decent player who fits for my 3v3 and we’re confident we can make the final push that has eluded us since our original member quit WoW..
Grats on your weapon Terhix, and I hope this site continues to flourish. =)

if this can help I can tell you that despite a lower Ap and a general nerf, mace stun helped me today in arena 2v2 with teams I usualy loose.
The problem remains shadow priest+affliction locks… my dudu (not very well geared and played tbh) cannot keep me up enought to kill neither of them. I suppose it’s a lack of dps. Mace rules but doent give that burst in dps such as sword or axe. Overall I am happy with mace so far
January 17th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Yea, priest+lock is a really hard combo to beat for any warrior/healer team, we have yet to develop a good strategy for those bastards with my pally. I don’t know how are you dealing with them with druid, but when playing with pally it seems like we have only that much time to kill one of them, as long my pally is bubbled, and that’s if I manage to stop the priest from dispelling the bubble ><. Any 2 dps team can be dealt with by abusing LoS, but those dot and run bastards just make you melt, behind a pillar or not.
January 17th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
but is it meant to be like that? I mean lock and priest sucking your mana/health behind pillars or is it a bug which it will never be fixed?
January 17th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Anyway there is not much that you can do beside pummelling his massdipell, and pray you wont miss it
They can easily cc your healer and only paladins can give you enough time (bubble) to try to kill one of them.
I have to say that only affliction locks+s.priest are that hard. Demonology lock dont do that much damage so quickly thus giving you time to focus priest.
January 17th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
I’ve played season 2 and currently this season with a disc priest. With pain suppression, power infusion, and having fearward/will of the forsaken really counters any 2 dps teams.
January 18th, 2008 at 9:31 am
Paladin got bop, but that’s only good vs teams with physical damage. Some form of anti-fear would make paladins much less vulnerable to CC, especially against priest/lock teams, and it would fit the lore too (in D&D for example paladins have passive fear immunity).
January 18th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Back to weapon… Is it really worth to farm S1 mace when you got S1 axe already? Yeah it is only 2-3 days but still…
January 18th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
I had S1 axe, farmed another 27k for S1 mace, and I don’t regret it.
January 19th, 2008 at 9:05 am
I got it first
Mace powa!
January 20th, 2008 at 4:51 am
I posted here earlier - see above! I started a new 2v2 with a guildie’s brand new druid yesterday. I was with a druid before but never really did very well, I often felt he made silly mistakes. So I suggested we both played with different people to see if we learn something new.
The new team has done better than I expected, we’ve played 38 games and won 32 of them, which means we’re at 1882 and I realise that I will have exactly 3750 points on wednesday
Anyway - I didn’t post to boast or gloat (though I am currently bouncing off the walls :D), I’m posting about the lock-priest combo thing.
We faced two Spriest+Afflock teams and a few discpriest + lock teams. We beat all of them, though the Spriest teams were _very_ close games. A summary of what we did was: get into combat as early as possible and get reflect going asap. I was in Def stance the entire time, concentrating on bashing fears from the lock while keeping the priest hamstrung(piercing howl, since I was too scared to go into battlestance!). Once I’d bashed the lock and done as much dmg as I dared, I’d intervene back to my druid and we’d both hide and generally avoid them as long as possible. Taunting the Felhunter everytime it’s off you is also important.
I believe the teams we fought weren’t brilliant - I don’t think a really strong Spriest and lock will lose to a druid and warrior, but I think what we did gave us the best chance to win.
With the healing priests we played a game of me hitting the lock (while the druid LoSed mana burns and cycloned the priest, then cycloning the pet - a cycloned pet offers no soul link so my dmg on the lock jumped and this forced the priest back into healing). Once my bashing the lock had got the pet to about 60% I’d wait a few swings and gen a little rage.. Then unleash that on the pet as fast as possible, while the priest was still healing the lock up.
I think the most important thing to 2v2 is communication.. My druid doesn’t talk on vent, he’s not confident enough with his English. He uses a series of macros instead, to let me know ”need to dink”, ”drinking”, ”feared”, ”kill pet”, ‘’switch target” etc. All the time I speak as much as possible, giving a running commentary on everything that goes through my head, so he knows exactly what I’m doing and what’s going on that he can’t see.
Sorry for the long post.. but I’m hoping that helps someone!

Hey Terhix, and grats on your S3 mace!
I was thinking about getting a sword but now I read all this talk about people taking the mace over sword. I can’t seem to make up my mind..!
I’m getting my S3 weapon next week too. And without any easy mode druid team aswell
Anyway, I think I’ll just get the sword since I like burst and I’m playing with a shaman too, which works with sword spec. I really wish I was a freaking human, orc racial wont cut it in pvp!
January 24th, 2008 at 11:50 am
terhix tell us how it feels!
January 24th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Plain awesome, ganking people in nagrand, white crits for 2.5k with enrage and executioner on cloth with 0 resil etc. :E

Hey Terhix,
Great site. Quick question re: Locks
“A summary of what we did was: get into combat as early as possible and get reflect going asap. I was in Def stance the entire time, concentrating on bashing fears from the lock while keeping the priest hamstrung(piercing howl, since I was too scared to go into battlestance!).”
Were you using a one-hander here in lieu of 2h mace? I thought you could not switch gear in Arena?
January 28th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
You can swap weapons.
January 29th, 2008 at 1:43 am
Hey Terhix,
I was checking out your S3 mace picture and had quick Q.
Whats your advice on key binding for Intercept? I did not see it on your SS? Is there a way to key Charge and Intercept on same?
Thanks again.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Same button as charge in berserker stance.
