More 2.1.0 changes
Abilities, PvE, PvP, Talents April 14th, 2007No, I’m not going to make a comment about 2.1.0 changes, if you have half of a brain, you know why we are getting nerfed. There is nothing to cry over, it’s a major bug fixing and class balancing patch, and as always - if anything will be wrong with our class - it will get fixed. Anyway, Meadows got onto PTR and gave us the following information:
Here are some changes that might be of interest to warriors.
# Many epic weapons were slightly nerfed. Blacksmith tier 2 weapons lost 0.7 DPS, gladiator 2h weapons lost 0.7 DPS too (mine went from 114.7 - 114.0). Gladiator 1hs lost a bit of damage too.

Gladiator 2h sword, old stats: http://surl.se/akhy
Gladiator 2h sword, new stats: http://surl.se/akhx# Savagery now has a glow. If your weapon has no base glow effect then savagery will be red, while at the same time amplifying a weapon’s base glow effect if there is one Looks pretty funky. See screenshots below but keep in mind that the gladiator sword glows a bit already:

New glow: http://surl.se/akhxGlow without any base weapon glow: http://esko.planetaclix.pt/WoWScrnShot_041307_170441.jpg
# Mongoose has a bright, green glow:

# Spell reflect now fades after you unequip your shield, plus it also has a really obvious animation, impossible to miss:
# Revenge had its damage increased by 400% or so. Mitigated by armor, not effected by AP:
http://surl.se/akig
Old: 99-121
New: 414-506 damageEffected by armor. Not effected by AP.
# Devastate has been reworked. It now strikes with both weapons when dual-wielding:
# Heroic Strike causes 62 additional damage to dazed targets.
# Enrage is still the old 25% damage buff, not some haste/flurry thing
# All ability tooltips now say "melee range" instead of 5 yards. Whether this has any effect on abilities is doubtful:
# Warrior tier 4 was slightly changed:
Warrior Def: no changes
Warrior Off:
Chest:
-4 STR (why?)And last but certainly not least:
# Sweeping Strikes no longer gets a second bonus from %-damage buffs:
So, there goes that. Damn it, Blizzard.
So here dies my idea for instant shield -> spell reflect -> 2h macro :p.

I still find the Death Wish/Enrage change very strange. I can understand why they would want to lower our damage output, with all this new expansion gear, but I fail to see the logic in removing the stacking effect from these two. Our ability to burst is kinda screwed over now. Whatever.
Warrior is the best scaling class in the game. These are the consequenses.

Revenge 500dmg? Lol, come try to kill me rogues.
Def vs. rogue was allways kind of fun (for the warror) but come on… 414-506?

I’m mostly curious to see if the “re-valuing” of gear is going to affect anything I wear. If they are changes like they made to the t2 weps then /yawn. O no 0.7 dps?
One item worth noting is the poison vial from Karahzan now has a passive +34 to hit in addition to the 200-300dmg poison proc (altho it seems to be a weak 1/minute type proc). The hit will be a big deal for fury warriors for sure.
I’ve still got a couple pieces like the irondrake faceguard in my bank hoping they’ll buff them to be better than quest rewards (2nd sight wtf)

I’ve been on the test realm, I spec’d away from Death Wish, and I can asure you that we’re still incredibly powerful against any class, even when they wear full Tier 5.

After a day in the battlegrounds, it becomes quite logic why we needed the balancing. I still find some of the measures very strange, but what can I say. We’re fine.

why would you not get deathwish though? Even with the nerf it’s still incredibly good and for only 1pt. Hell, i’d spend 1pt on the talent if all it did was break fear.
April 17th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
Because we have berserker rage? :p
But yeah I doubt you could find anywhere better to put that point, mostly because imp intercept will still be needed for pvp anyways no matter how much they nerf other talents >< (until they nerf intercept ofc)

Problem with berserker rage is that you are not always in zerk stance…well at least I’m not
I very rarely use DW for fear breaking since I have WOTF but I assume it’s very useful for non UD warriors. Also, anyone remember how much extra damage you took from DW back in the days? I remember it being much higher then 5%

It was mainly for testing purposes to see how it would feel without it. I’ve found better use for the point now, so unless it changes, I won’t spec Death Wish in 2.1 either.

PTR 2.1.2
Warriors
* Overpower dims on the action bar when the player is affected by disarm spells.
* Sword Specialization: The change to Sword Specialization making its extra attacks appear in yellow has been reverted. Extra attacks will appear in white and act like any auto-attack. They will no longer reset the swing time of your weapon. Rage awarded will be calculated by damage dealt as with any normal auto-attack.
so with this change to sword spec, will it become more desired? hopefully so, i can see sword spec/WF being very powerful.
