Druids cry, but where are the pallies?
Paladin, PvE March 5th, 2007So, we have 3 classes that are able to tank - feral druids, protection paladins and any spec warriors. Ok, druids are getting nerfed next patch, and all their whine on how they are shapeshifters and not hybrids is not going to change that. When you look at how the classes are built and consider Tseric’s words that arms warrior is the baseline tank, and then look at druids, who have both tanking and dps covered in feral tree, crying on how they should tank as well as protection warrior, all you can do is post a palmface ascii on the forums. There are actually few interesting things you can learn from druids, for example I learned that I should have 7.5k HP, 1.5k attack power and 10k armor as an Arms warrior. Woohoo! My HP is way higher then that, my AP is way lower then that and my armor? Are you freaking kidding me? Hello? Get some data before you post and maybe then we can have a discussion.
And in all those whines druids are throwing at us (pretty much same as warriors where throwing at druids) some people forget that there is actually a Paladin class, you know, the tanking/healing hybrid. So while Arms is the baseline tank, and while Arms can perform pretty damn well outside of tanking (I’m often #1 dps in 5mans as an arms warrior, when the druid is tanking, oh, and the druid is #2 dps then…) and while protection paladins are pretty much like protection warriors - they loose viability at one role to master the other, the actual order of tanks should be: Prot warrior > Prot paladin > Arms warrior / Feral druid. Yet, according to some druids it should be like: Feral druid / Prot warrior > Arms warrior. Paladin? LOL! What’s that?
Protection warrior is all about single target threat. Now, we will see how (if) feral can keep healing threat on mob packs with swipe after the nerf, and we will see if Arms warriors who, like me, specced for improved Thunderclap, will keep mob packs on themselves. So while Arms and Feral can be, technically, a multi-mob tank, and while Prot can be end-game raid-boss main tank, what should the paladins do? Tank raid bosses as well? Or be a multi mob tank? Or maybe be kind of both? Anyway, the druids say we need more tanks, I say - let the pallies tank.

I dunno what paladins should do but I know what they should not do…and that’s DPS.
Actually I do know what paladins should do…they should HEAL. Imho they are the best healers in the game….at least in all the instances that matter. Those instances being Nagrand Arena and Blade’s Edge Mountain arena
